The new year is finally here and we are excited about the most anticipated TV series of 2023.

Not all TV series on this list are going to be a hit, that is for sure, but we can hope for the majority of them to make it worth the time investment.

Our list of most anticipated TV series of 2023 list is in premiere date order.

The Last of Us (HBO/HBO Max)

The Last of Us

Premiere Date: January 15, 2023

Joel and Ellie, a pair connected through the harshness of the world they live in, are forced to endure brutal circumstances and ruthless killers on a trek across a post-outbreak America. The Last of Us is based on the video game by the same name.

Poker Face (Peacock)

Premiere Date: January 26, 2023

Charlie, who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying, hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.

Shrinking (Apple TV+)

Premiere Date: January 27, 2023

A therapist dealing with severe grief begins to breach ethical barriers by telling his patients what he completely thinks, resulting in massive changes to his and their lives.

Secret Invasion (Disney+)

Secret Invasion

Premiere Date: Early 2023

Secret Invasion is an upcoming series, based on the Marvel Comics crossover event of the same name. The series is a sequel to Captain Marvel, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It is the twenty-second television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the second installment of Phase Five. The series is produced by Marvel Studios and will be released on Disney+.

Hello Tomorrow! (Apple TV+)

Premiere Date: February 17, 2023

Hawking lunar timeshares, travelling salesman Jack is an optimist whose faith in a brighter tomorrow may threaten to leave him lost in the very dream that sustains him.

Ahsoka (Disney+)

Premiere Date: March 2023

After making her long awaited live-action debut in The Mandalorian, Ahsoka Tano’s story, written by Dave Filoni, will continue in a limited series starring Rosario Dawson and produced by Filoni and Jon Favreau.

White House Plumbers (HBO/HBO Max)

White House Plumbers

Premiere Date: March 2023

Watergate masterminds and President Richard Nixon‘s political operatives E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, part of the “White House Plumbers” charged with plugging press leaks by any means necessary, accidentally overturn the Presidency they were trying to protect

Yellowjackets Season 2 (Showtime)

Premiere Date: March 2023

Showrunners Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson confirmed that the chilling plotline of Lottie seeming to kill and eat one of her teammates will be revisited in Season 2. “We’ve been calling Season 2, ‘The Winter of Their Discontent,’” Lyle revealed to Variety, citing John Steinbeck’s novel of the same name inspired by a line from William Shakespeare’s “Richard III.”

So, expect more cannibalism coming your way soon.

Loki Season 2 (Disney+)

Premiere Date: Mid 2023

The second season of the television series Loki is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise

Ironheart (Disney+)

Premiere Date: Late 2023

Ironheart is an upcoming series, based on the Marvel Comics superheroine of the same name. The series is a sequel to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It is the twenty-third television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the sixth installment of Phase Five. The series is produced by Marvel Studios and will be released on Disney+.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos (Disney+)

Premiere Date: Late 2023

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is an upcoming series, based on the Marvel Comics supervillain of the same name. The series is a spin-off and sequel to WandaVision. It is the twenty-fifth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the eighth installment of Phase Five. The series is produced by Marvel Studios and will be released on Disney+.

X-Men ’97 (Disney+)

Premiere Date: Late 2023

X-Men ’97 is an upcoming Marvel Studios animated television series, created for Disney+. It is a revival / sequel of the 1992 animated series X-Men: The Animated Series, and the plot will continue where the original series left off.

Ted Lasso Season 3 (Apple TV+)

Premiere Date: TBA 2023

According to an interview with the The Hollywood Reporter, Ted Lasso editors A.J. Catoline and Melissa McCoy say Rebecca and Nate will see some of the biggest character arcs of Season 3.

“[Nate’s] on a trajectory, career-wise…From season one as kitman, then he became a coach, and now he’s the coach of West Ham,” Catoline said. “Jason is so very generous as a producer and creator. He gives all of the characters a storyline. I think that’s why [the episodes] are so full…There so many storylines; he wants every character to have an arc.”

History of the World, Part ll (Hulu)

Premiere Date: TBA 2023

40 years after the film was originally released, Hulu announced that it ordered a sequel variety series titled History of the World, Part II, with production planned to begin in Spring 2022.

The Three-Body Problem (Netflix)

Premiere Date: TBA 2023

Chinese physicist and nanomaterial researcher Wang Miao gets entangled in a vast conspiracy after state intelligence asks him to infiltrate a group known as The Frontiers of Science, which has been associated with a string of suicides among its members. Ye Wenjie is an astrophysicist, who saw her father brutally murdered during the Chinese Cultural Revolution more than forty years before the main story. After her father’s murder, she was taken to a labor camp but later conscripted because of her scientific background and sent to a secret radar base in a remote region of China.

Ye’s daughter was one of the suicides Wang must investigate, and they become friends as she recounts her secret work in the base to him. At the same time, Wang progresses through a mysterious VR game called Three Body, which takes place on an alien world with highly irregular weather and day/night cycles. The game follows the attempts of an alien race to build a functional calendar while their society is periodically destroyed by pattern-less waves of extreme heat and extreme cold. The object of the game is for the player to use the scientific method to help the creatures understand the nature of their world.
