In addition to the big two of Marvel and DC, there are hundreds more comic book publishers printing comics these days. However, a few stand above the rest.
We took the time to look at books from 2022 and which publisher was putting out the best lineup of comics. Here is our five favorite with an honorable mention.
2. Image
Image Comics is a comic book and graphic novel publisher founded in 1992 by a collective of bestselling artists. Image has since become the third largest comics publisher in the United States. Image publishes comics and graphic novels in nearly every genre, sub-genre, and style imaginable. It offers science fiction, fantasy, romance, horror, crime fiction, historical fiction, humor, and more by the finest artists and writers working in the medium today.
In 2022 Image dropped comics such as Eight Billion Genies, What’s The Furthest Place From Here?, Dark Ride, Public Domain, The Department of Truth, Hell To Pay, Spawn, Time Before Time, Twig, 20th Century Men, Night Club, All Against All, Golden Rage, and many more. Additionally, we the return of Saga and I Hate Fairyland. Image also released Clementine, a graphic novel based in The Walking Dead universe.
Next year Image has plans to continue What’s The Furthest Place From Here?, Dark Ride, The Department of Truth, Hell To Pay, Spawn, Time Before Time, 20th Century Men, Night Club, All Against All, I Hate Fairyland, and Saga. Eight Billion Genies, will wrap up their series in early 2023.
Image also has new comics such as Black Cloak #1, Spawn: Unwanted Violence #1, Immortal Sergeant #1, Almighty #1, Blood Tree #1, and many more books coming in early 2023.
