DC Comics return to live action television with Lanterns, based on the DC Comics Green Lantern characters Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
Two human members of the Green Lantern Corps, veteran Hal Jordan and new recruit John Stewart, serve as intergalactic law enforcement and battle powerful threats on Earth with their power rings. As they investigate a murder in Nebraska, they are led to far darker mysteries and reckonings.
The third DCU tv series was created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King and stars Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre respectively as the Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart, alongside Kelly Macdonald as Kerry and Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner. Also appearing is Garret Dillahunt as William Macon, Poorna Jagannathan as Zoe, Ulrich Thomsen as Thaal Sinestro, Nicole Ari Parker as Bernadette Stewart, Jason Ritter as Billy Macon, Sherman Augustus as John Stewart Sr., Paul Ben-Victor as Antaan, and more.
The first two episodes of Lanterns were directed by James Hawes with Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov also directing episodes.
Lanterns lands on HBO on August 16, 2026, and will go for eight episodes through October 4. It will be part of the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters as the fifth entry into the universe.
