Marvel Studios dropped the first look at Secret Invasion at Disney’s D23 Expo on Saturday and it looks like everything we could’ve imagined.
Secret Invasion will hit Disney+ in early 2023 as a limited series created by Kyle Bradstreet. It is intended to be the ninth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series sees Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury from the film series, along with Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, with Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle also starring.
New cast members will include Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Carmen Ejogo, Christopher McDonald, Dermot Mulroney, and Killian Scott. Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim will direct the episodes.
The forthcoming series is based on the comic book story arc by the same name created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Leinil Francis Yu. The comic arc is on of my favorite story arcs of all-time. Secret Invasion will be part of the fifth phase of the MCU and consist of six episodes in continuity of the cinematic universe.
