The world has been given numerous adaptations of the 1843 novella by Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol. However, not all live up to the original story.
According to our research there are over 50 adaptations of the story have been released and only about 10-percent are worth watching more than once. The other 40 or so versions can be watched once, if even at all.
Even with all the A Christmas Carol adaptations, it honestly wasn't that difficult for us to pick our top-5 favorite versions.
3. Mickey’s Christmas Carol (1983)
The first flick on this list to take the original story and plop it into another universe. Taking intellectual property such Mickey Mouse and his related characters and using them as the character from the story is such a fun idea.
Classic 1980s animation and great use of supporting cast makes this film a yearly tradition for our family. Easy to watch, entertaining and has heart. Plus, can’t go wrong watching Mickey do his thing.
This animated adaptation of A Christmas Carol is set at 100% and 90% on Rotten Tomatoes by critics and audience respectively.
