The Morning Star revolves around the Garrett family who lost their loved one Nathan Garrett in a wildfire incident. A year later, Jolene Garrett takes her family to the Morning Star lookout to scatter Nathan’s remains and find solace through closure. However, they soon realize that something beyond their imagination awaits them there – something powerful enough to transcend space and time.
The first thing that catches your attention when you pick up this comic is its stunning vintage-style artwork. Marco Finnegan has done an exceptional job of capturing the essence of the 1950s with his illustrations. From the clothes to the surroundings, everything has been meticulously detailed to give readers an authentic feel of that era.
The Morning Star is a great blend of captivating storytelling and stunning artwork. While the debut issue may feel slow for some readers who are looking for more supernatural elements right off the bat, it sets up the premise nicely for what’s to come in future issues.
