It’s that time of year again, time for us to count our favorites of the year that was. First up, we list our favorite TV shows of 2025. As an independent and small media presence, Capes and Tights didn’t find time to watch ALL television available this year, but got a good number of shows under our belt. With this said, we tend to focus more of those shows the fit the scope of our website such as comics, horror, and the similar which can lead to a different list than the big media will put out.

10. The Pitt

9. Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again begins several years after the events of Daredevil (2015–2018), and a year after blind lawyer Matt Murdock stopped his activities as the masked vigilante Daredevil. In the first season, Murdock continues his fight for justice as a lawyer while former crime boss Wilson Fisk is elected mayor of New York City, putting the pair on a collision course. After Fisk consolidates power, declares martial law, and begins targeting vigilantes, the second season sees Murdock gathering allies to resist Fisk and his Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF).

7. Alien: Earth

In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. Cyborgs and synthetics exist alongside humans, but the game is changed when the Prodigy Corporation unlocks hybrids. The first hybrid prototype named Wendy marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship collides into Prodigy City, Wendy and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms, which are more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined.

The Chair Company tells the story of William Ronald Trosper, who begins investigating a vast and elaborate conspiracy after an embarrassing workplace incident.

In 1962, a couple with their son move to Derry, Maine just as a young boy disappears. With their arrival, very bad things begin to happen in the town.
2. Revival

One miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly return to life. But these are not zombies, as the “revived” appear and behave just as they did before. As the mystery of this phenomenon fuels unrest, Dana Cypress, a down-on-her-luck and crass police officer and single mother, is thrust into a peculiar murder investigation-one where the murder victim is now alive, and everyone, whether living or revived, is a suspect.

Pluribus follows Albuquerque author Carol Sturka, who is one of only 13 people in the world immune to the effects of the “Joining”, an event in which an extraterrestrial virus transformed the rest of humanity into a peaceful and content hive mind known as the “Others”. The hive mind happily accommodates the wishes of those who remain unaffected, but admits that it will ultimately seek to assimilate them when it figures out how to do so.
