As new comic day quickly approaches it can be sometimes difficult to decide which of the new comics hitting the shelves at your local comic shop to grab. Do not worry, we are here to help. This week we preview four titles that standout from the crowd including Crownsville #1, No Place #1, and more!

While we are not the official voice of your decision, we want to help guide you in the right direction for comics releasing November 5, 2025.

Crownsville #1

Crownsville #1

Writer: Rodney Barnes
Artist: Elia Bonetti
Publisher: Oni Press

Founded at the turn of the 20th century outside of Annapolis, Maryland, the Crownsville Hospital was a notoriously segregated, all-Black psychiatric institute. After decades of overcrowding and neglect—alongside darker, more-persistent rumors of patient abuse and illegal medical experiments—it was finally closed. Today, it stands condemned—a crumbling testament to a legacy of all-too-real terror inflicted on a marginalized and vulnerable community. But even as a ruin of its former self, Crownsville still casts a long shadow…

When an unexplained death inside the abandoned hospital is ruled a suicide, Annapolis police detective Mike Simms and journalist Paul Blairare are compelled to dig deeper, only to discover the reality of the horrors that once took place there… and the powerful connection they share to the anguished spirits of the dead that are still locked within its walls.

Crownsville is a blend of unsettling horror and true crime which is effectively scripted by Rodney Barnes and evocatively illustrated by Elia Bonetti. The extra-long debut issue gives us hope to where this impactful comic is headed. – CLICK HERE to read the entire review

No Place #1

No Place #1

Writer: Tim Seeley
Artist: Stefano Simeone
Publisher: Ignition Press

Mariposa Montiel is having a cruel homecoming. As the daughter of immigrants, the outcast teenager is no stranger to scrutiny, but this is another level. Years after vanishing from her Chicago neighborhood, Mari has returned to a traumatized family and a media circus with nothing but a tiger-striped feather and an extraordinary tale of her time away as the champion of a magical jungle land called Mayahuela.

Mari is met as a fraud and her story makes her a stranger in her own life until an eccentric, high-tech organization known as N.O. Place emerges from the shadows and welcomes her home. Led by a legend of the Land of Oz, the secret agency has its finger on the pulse of so-called fictional worlds — and as its newest recruit, Mari is now called upon to save our own world from a creeping Lovecraftian nightmare.
