The second season of the hit DC television series Peacemaker is set to invade our homes this August from filmmaker James Gunn.
A man fights for peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. The second season is set in the DC Universe following the events of the Superman feature film which was released on July 11, 2025.
As with the first season, co-chairmen and co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn serves as showrunner, writing and directing all eight episodes of the second season. Peacemaker sees John Cena return to star as the title character alongside Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase / Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Robert Patrick as August “Auggie” Smith / White Dragon, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sol Rodríguez as Sasha Bordeaux, Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury, Michael Rooker as Red St. Wild, and David Denman.
Additionally, Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, and Sean Gunn reprise their respective roles as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, and Maxwell Lord from Superman. Peacemaker’s pet bald eagle, Eagly, returns from the first season.
The second season will get a new title sequence as well as a new theme song for the opening. “Do Ya Wanna Taste It” by Wig Wam was a smash hit from the first season, but Gunn opted on a new song that he said aligned with the season’s focus on Chris Smith over Peacemaker.
Peacemaker Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on the streaming service HBO Max on August 21, 2025, consisting of eight episodes.
