Casey Marie takes center stage as she mentors her young pupils and prepares them for the challenges ahead. Readers get an intimate look at each character’s motivations, fears, and strengths as they navigate through a world filled with danger and uncertainty. The relationships between characters are complex and nuanced, adding layers of depth to an already rich storyline.
As New York City struggles under the weight of corruption and greed it is nice to see the new group of turtles take the mantle from the turtles we all grew up loving. The debut issue is action packed with Casey Marie kicking some serious ass, proving she is a force in which to be reckoned.
While the Escorza brothers are talented artists in their own right, Ben Bishop’s artwork through the middle section of The Last Ronin II #1 is nothing short of spectacular. His ability to draw the turtles is up their with the greats.
