The fourth installment of the Captain America film series, Captain America: Brave New World, is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2025 as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Following the election of Thaddeus Ross as the president of the United States, Sam Wilson finds himself at the center of an international incident and must work to stop the true masterminds behind it.
The film was directed by Julius Onah from a screenplay by Rob Edwards and the writing teams of Malcolm Spellman & Dalan Musson and Onah & Peter Glanz. Captain America: Brave New World stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Captain America alongside Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres / Falcon, Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Xosha Roquemore as Leila Taylor, Giancarlo Esposito as Seth Voelker / Sidewinder, Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns / Leader, Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross / Red Hulk, and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson.
Additionally, Liv Tyler reprises her role as Betty Ross, Rosa Salazar portrays Diamondback, and Takehiro Hira appears as Japanese prime minister Ozaki.
Captain America: Brave New World is the fifth film in Phase Five, the 35th MCU film and a continuation to the television miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier from 2021. While Mackie has taken the reigns from Chris Evans as the title character, Captain America is only the second Marvel character to get a fourth solo film, following Thor in Thor: Ragnarok.
Brave New World was made for $180 million and is tracking to open with at least a $90 million opening weekend. The second film in the series, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, opened with a $95 opening weekend.
Captain America: Brave New World hits theaters on February 14, 2025 from Marvel Studios.
