The much anticipated sequel to Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse revealed its villain during private showing.

Spot will be voiced by Jason Schwartzman in the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse film debuting June 2, 2023. Schwartzman made his film debut in Wes Anderson‘s 1998 film Rushmore and has starred in such other films as Fantastic Mr. Fox, Isle of Dogs, Klaus, among many others.

The Spider-Man foe, also known as Dr. Jonathan Ohnn, made his debut as Ohnn in Spectacular Spider-Man #97 in 1984 and as Spot in Spectacular Spider-Man #98 in 1985. Created by writer  Al Milgrom and artist Herb Trimpe, he is an odd choice for such an anticipated film.

In Across The Spider-Verse, Miles Morales embarks on an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team. Spider-Verse 2 is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson with a screenplay by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham.

A third film, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is set to be released in March 2024 and a female-focused spin-off film is also in development.
