On the Episode 74 of the Capes and Tights Podcast, Paul Eaton joined Justin Soderberg to discuss their respective top-10 2022 comic books of the year. Not everyone has the chance to listen our episodes and with this we have decided to now list the comics here for your reading pleasure.

Only a few stipulations are required to be considered on of the 2022 comic books of the year.

The comic book has to have had two issues released between January 1 and December 31, 2022. The series does not need to have first released or completely released within 2022, but have three issues released. Example: Something Is Killing The Children released in 2019, but can be considered as one of the 2022 comic books of the year due to having had at least two issues released this year.

We recommend listening to Episode 74: 2022 Comics Books of the Year as our hosts explain why each book made the list.

7. Hulk Vs. Thor: Banner of War // The Nice House on the Lake

Hulk Vs. Thor: Banner of War

Hulk Vs. Thor: Banner of War (Marvel Comics)

(W) Donny Cates // (A) Martin Coccolo

Hulk and Thor have both undergone massive changes recently, but one thing remains constant – their heated rivalry! When mysterious circumstances bring them into conflict once more, will the God of Thunder be able to triumph against a Bruce Banner who can now control his rage?

The Nice House on the Lake (DC Black Label)

(W) James Tynion IV // (A/CA) Alvaro Martinez Bueno

Everyone who was invited to the house knows Walter-well, they know him a little, anyway. Some met him in childhood; some met him months ago. And Walter’s always been a little…off. But after the hardest year of their lives, nobody was going to turn down Walter’s invitation to an astonishingly beautiful house in the woods, overlooking an enormous sylvan lake. It’s beautiful, it’s opulent, it’s private-so a week of putting up with Walter’s weird little schemes and nicknames in exchange for the vacation of a lifetime? Why not?

All of them were at that moment in their lives when they could feel themselves pulling away from their other friends; wouldn’t a chance to reconnect be…nice?
