The Disney+ Halloween special aired on the streaming service October 7, 2022 as the first Marvel Studios’ Special Presentation. The special was directed and scored by Michael Giacchino. Giacchino is widely known for composing music for The Batman, Thor: Love and Thunder, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Jojo Rabbit, and so many more.
Gael García Bernal stars in the special, along with Laura Donnelly as Elsa Bloodstone, Harriet Sansom Harris as Verussa Bloodstone, Kirk R. Thatcher as Jovan, Eugenie Bondurant as Azarel, Leonardo Nam as Liorn, and Daniel J. Watts as Barasso. Carey Jones portrays Ted / Man-Thing, with the special’s editor Jeffrey Ford providing additional vocalizations. The feature lasts about 53 minutes and shares continuity with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the Werewolf By Night Halloween Special, a secret group of monster hunters gather at Bloodstone Castle following the death of their leader and engage in a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful relic, which will bring them face to face with a dangerous monster.
The Werewolf By Night Halloween Special is based on the Marvel Comics character by the same name. Werewolf By Night was created by Roy Thomas, Jeanie Thomas, Gerry Conway, and Mike Ploog. He first appeared in Marvel Spotlight #2 (February 1972).
