Amazing layouts and gruesome kills highlight the first issue of Hazan and Volk’s Tales From Nottingham at Mad Cave Studios. While the time period and language are our style of comic books, the series has wonderful visuals and storyline.
The creative team nailed the use of speech bubbles when needed, but the perfect absence of wording on certain panels allows us, the reader, to experience the full book. Sometimes you find yourself rushing through the art to read the wording and miss part of the book. The team balances this well at moments in Nottingham.
