Review Overview

The world we live in is unstable and unpredictable. It’s no wonder many of us find solace in stories that offer an escape from reality. Sometimes there is a crossover between the stories we read and reality. Haunt You To The End is a mix of both, written by Ryan Cady and illustrated by Andrea Mutti.

The story follows a team comprising of an eccentric billionaire, a disgraced journalist, a radical doctor, a TV demonologist, and a squad of hard-bitten military contractors that set out to prove the existence of life after death. However, the team’s mission may not be the comforting revelation the world is hoping for.

The storyline is not just about a team that explores the world of ghosts and the afterlife. It is much more than that. It fits in perfectly with the current climate of the world, addressing the issues of climate disasters and worldwide instability. The plot has several layers, making it realistic and intriguing.

Where Haunt You To The End really captures the reader’s attention is how it balances the ghost and horror story with a touch of comedy. For some reason we keep thinking of Ghost Hunters meets Jurassic Park. The characters are unique, each one bringing a distinct element to the story. Some will make you laugh, while others will scare you.

The artwork by Andrea Mutti is outstanding throughout the comic, as per usual from the artist. Mutti manages to add so much life and character to the story with the use of colors, detailed backgrounds, and striking expressions. While also capturing the ghostly story. The lines plus watercoloring bring the characters to life in a way that perfectly complements the story.

Ryan Cady’s writing is engaging, and the dialogue flows naturally. It’s clear that Cady had a clear vision of the story he wanted to tell, and he’s executed it well, creating a lasting impact on the reader’s mind.

Haunt You To The End is a unique comic book, blending elements of horror and climate change, with a hint of realism. Ryan Cady and Andrea Mutti deliver a superb reading experience that’ll haunt you even after you’ve finished the comic.

Mutti and Cady join the Capes and Tights Podcast for the final episodes of 2023 to discuss Haunt You To The End and much more on December 27, 2023.
