Wes Craven gave us one of the best slasher films of all-time in 1996 with Scream. Now, six films have been released in the Scream franchise with a seventh in active development. Continuing Horror Week at Capes and Tights we rank all six films.
The first four films were directed by Craven. Kevin Williamson wrote Scream, Scream 2 and Scream 4, and is set to return to direct the seventh film. Ehren Kruger wrote Scream 3. The Scream (2022) and Scream VI installments were directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, with Guy Busick and James Vanderbilt serving as writers and Williamson returning as executive producer. The film series has grossed over $910 million at the global box office.
Additionally, a television series aired from 2015-2019 on MTV and VH1.
