Zeus is on a power trip and Artemis is out for revenge in Mad Cave Studios latest comic book Hunt. Kill. Repeat. #1.
It’s Kill Bill meets Clash of the Titans in Hunt. Kill. Repeat. The all-new, action packed series by Mark London (Battlecats, Knights of the Golden Sun). When the Greek gods invade Earth, society is quickly forced to comply with their new rulers.
However, one god, Artemis, rejects her brethren’s ideology and has found solace in the love of a mortal. When she is called to Olympus to answer for her betrayal, the gods strip away her godly powers and leave her for dead. Now, ten years later, Artemis is on a quest for revenge to confront her father, Zeus, for taking away everything she ever loved.
London is joined by newcomer Francesco Archidiacono on pencils, with inks by Marc Deering (Green Lantern, Justice League), colors by Lee Loughridge (The Good Asian, Once Upon a Time at the End), and letters by Rus Wooton (Deadly Class, A Legacy of Violence).
To start the God state “their lives have been consumed by technology,” which we thought was ironic as we were reading this advance copy of London’s new book on our iPad.
Although Zeus has a big part in this debut issue, it is great to see Artemis as such a badass and a strong female lead role. She kicks some serious ass. Additionally, Zeus has actual power and a much more serious threat compared to Thor: Love and Thunder‘s version of the God.
Archidiacono lines, inked by Deering, are nice and clean with a mix of realism and cartoon that gives the book a uniqueness worth viewing. A family drama with badass action, amazing fight scenes, outstanding artwork and an amazing story gives this series a great hope for future issues.
