As a comic book enthusiast, few things excite me more than the unexpected discovery of a new series that truly captures my imagination. Blood Commandment, written, illustrated, and colored by Syzmon Krudanski, is one such series. With its stunning artwork, compelling storyline, and hauntingly atmospheric setting, this four-issue horror miniseries serves up a gut-wrenching tale of survival, sacrifice, and hope.
If you’re a fan of Something Epic, Spawn or a lover of all things horror, then I highly recommend that you pick up Blood Commandment #1 as soon as possible.
Without question, the first thing that struck me about Blood Commandment #1 was the incredible artwork. Syzmon Krudanski’s illustrations are breathtaking in their attention to detail, angles, shading, lighting, and depth of field. Krudanski has a gift for imbuing his artwork with a sense of weight and realism that makes it all the more impactful. The world he has created is both immersive and terrifying.
Of course, a great comic book isn’t just defined by its artwork. The storyline must also be compelling and engaging. Blood Commandment #1 is an expertly crafted tale that drips with atmosphere and tension. Krudanski has proven to be a master storyteller who manages to draw you in with his vivid imagery and subtly drawn characters.
The story follows the lives of a father and son living off-grid in a remote valley, surrounded by magnificent mountains and a dark, dense forest. The father is doing all he can to teach his son the necessary survival skills to survive in this brutal and unforgiving environment. But as the story unfolds, we learn that the father is hiding a dark secret that threatens to destroy everything they’ve built.
I’ve read my fair share of stories that attempt to scare me with gratuitous gore or cheap shocks. Blood Commandment #1, however, takes a different approach. Krudanski ratchets up the tension slowly and subtly. The horror is all the more disturbing because it feels so connected to the real world. It’s a visceral and emotional experience that leaves you both shaken and impressed.
After reading Blood Commandment #1, I have an insatiable appetite for more of Krudanski’s incredible work. As a fan of Something Epic and Spawn, I was already familiar with his exceptional skills, but Blood Commandment takes things to a whole new level. Krudanski proves that he is a force to be reckoned with in the horror genre.
Overall, Blood Commandment #1 is a must-read for fans of horror, comics, and great storytelling. Syzmon Krudanski’s incredible artwork and expert storytelling combine to form a truly outstanding miniseries that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Blood Commandment has a strong possibility to make our best comics of 2023 list come the end of the year.
