Review Overview

There’s no doubt that comic books have become an integral part of popular culture and sometimes they crossover with the wonderful world of music. One such story is The Mandrake Project, a 12-issue epic saga of opposing forces battling to use the powers of science and magic, written by Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson and Tony Lee with art by Staz Johnson.

The Mandrake Project is a dark, adult story of power, abuse, and a struggle for identity that explores the lengths people will go to achieve their goals.

Over the course of the comic series, readers witness the generational war between the opposing forces of science and mysticism. Both sides engage in a battle of wits and wills with the ultimate prize being immortality. The story also addresses themes of power dynamics, loyalty, and betrayal, making it a gripping and thought-provoking read.

One of the highlights of the comic book is the artwork by Staz Johnson. The artwork is stunning, with incredible attention to detail in both character designs and backgrounds. The story’s dark and gritty tone is well reflected in the artwork. With Johnson’s emotive characters and dynamic action scenes, he does an excellent job of bringing the story to life.

The covers by Bill Sienkiewicz are also some of the best you’ll find in any comic book series. Sienkiewicz, a legendary artist, known for his work on New Mutants and Moon Knight, delivers brilliant cover art that sets the tone for each issue.

The Mandrake Project is an epic tale that you won’t want to miss, especially for those fans of Iron Maiden. Bruce Dickinson, Tony Lee, and Staz Johnson have crafted a story that is both haunting and thrilling, with excellent characters, artwork, and themes. The comic book series is a great read for fans of science fiction, fantasy, and horror.
