SAN DIEGO, CA — The Nacelle Company, a leader in the pop culture space, announced today that the cult-favorite franchise Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa is riding into action at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 in a brand new animated series, spotlighting the next big step in the company’s expanding shared universe of reimagined toy and animation classics, the NacelleVerse. A beloved ’90s property often mentioned alongside Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for its colorful cast and offbeat tone, Moo Mesa is a revival that will capture the imagination of a new generation while reigniting nostalgia for longtime fans.

First introduced in 1991 by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles artist Ryan Brown, C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa became a ’90s hit with a toy line, a hit Saturday morning cartoon on ABC, comic books, and an arcade game. Now, over three decades later, the legendary law cows are back with new toys, a new comic, and—most exciting of all— the third new animated series from The Nacelle Company, currently in development and set to premiere in 2027. This upcoming series shares a connected universe and timeline with two other Nacelle animated reboots: RoboForce, executive produced by Brian Volk-Weiss, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Seven Bucks Productions; and Biker Mice from Mars, executive produced by Volk-Weiss, Ryan Reynolds, and Maximum Effort. Together, these series form a cohesive animated universe that reimagines iconic ’80s and ’90s properties for a new generation.

The upcoming animated series will comprise eight episodes, offering a fresh, serialized perspective on the wild and weird world of Moo Mesa. Set in the 1800s and fully integrated into the NacelleVerse alongside RoboForce and Biker Mice from Mars, the series revisits a high-altitude frontier where justice is served on hooves. Marshal Moo Montana, Cowlorado Kid, and Dakota Dude once again take the reins, protecting CowTown from crooked Mayor Oscar Bulloney, ruthless Sheriff Terrorbull, and a rogue gallery of outlaw varmints. The show also brings back beloved characters like Cowlamity Kate, Lily Bovine, Cody Calf, and more—all with updated designs and deeper storytelling that honors the original series while exploring bold new territory.

For a further buildup to the series – Nacelle, in collaboration with Oni Press, will also be launching C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa: Origins in September. These four-issue comic miniseries tell the untold story of how the C.O.W.-Boys first teamed up after a mysterious Great Comet “cow-metized” the Western plains. The comic serves as a direct prelude to the animated series, offering fans an early glimpse of the world and character arcs to come.

“C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa is a timeless property that has stuck with fans for over 30 years, and we’re thrilled that we’re reintroducing it to a new generation in a big way,” said Brian Volk-Weiss, Founder and CEO of The Nacelle Company. “This relaunch is everything we love — imaginative, nostalgic, and full of heart — and it’s a key piece of what we’re building with the NacelleVerse.”

Fans attending San Diego Comic-Con 2025 can get a sneak peek of what’s what to come by visiting Nacelle at Booth #2547 to grab limited-edition giveaways and get a first look at art from the upcoming comic and animated series. The booth will also feature early prototypes of the new C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa action figures, now available for pre-order. The first wave includes Marshal Moo Montana, Cowlamity Kate, and Sheriff Terrorbull—each with 23 points of articulation and a robust assortment of accessories designed for serious collectors.

In keeping with their approach on RoboForce and Biker Mice from Mars, The Nacelle Company is currently meeting with several high-profile celebrities to join the C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa revival. Following in the footsteps of collaborations with Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds and their respective production companies, the team aims to bring another primary name into the fold, leaving the question: who’s going to saddle up next?
