Currently filming in Atlanta, Echo added Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio to the cast of the Disney+ series.
Cox and D’Onofrio will reprise their roles as Daredevil and Kingpin respectively from the Daredevil series originally on Netflix, now on Disney+. Cox has also appeared on the big screen with a cameo appearance in 2021 smash hit Spider-Man: No Way Home, while D’Onofrio appeared in Hawkeye.
The series sees Maya Lopez return to her hometown where she must come to terms with her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace her family and community. Sydney Freeland and Catriona McKenzie will direct episodes with Marion Dayre serving as head writer and show creator.
The Hawkeye spin-off will star Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez / Echo with Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene, and Zahn McClarnon. Now Cox and D’Onofrio will join the cast.
Echo will expected to air on Disney+ sometime in 2023 and is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe phase 4.
All Netflix Marvel shows migrated to Disney+ in March, including Daredevil, Punisher, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and The Defenders. The home for both Daredevil and Hawkeye allows you to catch on Cox and D’Onofrio’s characters before the reprise their roles in 2023.
