It’s spooky season and the creative team behind Marvel Comics‘ Deadpool get in the spirt with Halloween Party #1.
From writers Brian Posehn (The Secret History Of The War On Weed), Gerry Duggan (Deadpool), and Scott Koblish (Captain America) with Hi-Fi Colour Design, Halloween Party #1 hit shelves at your local comic book shops on Wednesday, October 12.
It’s a scary time in America, and we’re not talking about the razors in the candy. When you might get murdered in a mass shooting, the clowns, monsters and other things that go bump in the night have a harder time doing their job. It’s a hilarious bummer at this year’s monster mash. Scotch McTiernan and Weed Thing return, and we introduce some new favorites.
The artwork behind the series captivates you and hooks you into the Halloween season, but the book is a little all over the place and can get overwhelming at moments.
Crazy, weird, and spooky are all good things in my book, but Halloween Party #1 was just too much of all of that in one place. This book might be for you, but was just not the kind of book I was hoping for or expecting or maybe just wishing it was.
Posehn is such a funny actor and writer it does come through in this comic book, again, just too much for my liking.
However, when the Deadpool creative team reunites for a one-shot, it’s a must purchase.
