It’s that time of year once again, a time for horror books, comics, movies, and more during Horror Week 2025! With each spooky season, we love to embrace the horror genre here at the Capes and Tights Podcast and have wonderful conversations with some of the voices in the genre. Wednesday, October 29: Anna Dupre & Matt Morris – Bookstagrammers

Celebrating our milestone episode 250, we are joined by Anna Dupre and Matt Morris. Dupre is a contributing writer at Capes and Tights as well as a popular voice in the horror genre on Instagram and YouTube known as Anna Rose Reads. Morris is another popular voice on Instagram as well as hosts a number of horror book clubs, he is known online as Matts Books and Drams.
Thursday, October 30: Becky Siegel Spratford – Author, Editor & Librarian

Becky Siegel Spratford, MLIS, is a librarian specializing in serving patrons ages thirteen and up. She trains library staff all over the world on how to match books with readers through the local public library. She writes reviews for Booklist and a horror review column for Library Journal. Known for her work with horror readers, Becky is the author of three text books for library workers, most recently, The Reader’s Advisory Guide to Horror, Third Edition and Why I Love Horror: Essays on Horror Literature.
Friday, October 31: Dave Schilling – Filmmaker & Writer

We celebrate Halloween Day with Dave Schilling. Schilling is a filmmaker and author. He is currently working on the short film Can’t Float and co-authored Horror’s New Wave: 15 Years of Blumhouse with Blumhouse. Horror’s New Wave celebrates the legendary horror studio Blumhouse’s legacy with this lavishly illustrated visual compendium that takes you behind the scenes of the films that have reshaped the horror genre, from The Exorcist to the Paranormal Activity and Halloween franchises.
