Review Overview

Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix is set in the eerie Orsk furniture superstore in Cleveland, Ohio and takes readers on a terrifying journey through the unexplained mysteries that lurk within its walls.

Horrorstor: A Haunting Story With Some Assembly RequiredFrom the moment you open the pages of Horrorstor, you are immediately drawn into the world of Orsk and its strange occurrences. The broken furniture, mysterious sounds, and unexplainable events set the stage for a spine-chilling tale that will keep you on the edge of your seat. As three employees are asked to volunteer for a late-night shift to uncover the truth behind these happenings, readers are taken on a thrilling ride filled with suspense and terror.

One of the standout features of Horrorstor is its unique setting. Rather than taking place in a traditional haunted house, this story unfolds within the walls of a furniture store, adding an unexpected twist to the classic horror genre. The juxtaposition of everyday items like bookshelves and wardrobes with supernatural elements creates an atmosphere that is both familiar and unsettling, making for a truly memorable reading experience. Especially all those who have visited a similar, “but different” store.

Grady Hendrix’s writing style shines throughout Horrorstor, blending elements of horror, humor, and mystery seamlessly. The first half of the book draws readers in with its captivating storyline and well-developed characters that you can’t help but root for. While the second half may lose some momentum, overall it delivers on its promise to entertain and thrill readers from start to finish.

Horrorstor is a haunting read that combines elements of horror, humor, and mystery to create worthwhile story. With its unique setting, engaging characters, and unexpected twists, this novel was worth the journey. While not Hendrix’s best novel, it was a good story.

Horrorstor is available at bookstores everywhere. Check out the audiobook on Libro.fm narrated by Pablo Lopez.
