Mise En Place is a unique out of this world comic book experience from a veteran restauranteur and an amazing creative team.
After consuming every animal on Earth, humanity turns to the stars, enslaving, butchering and consuming creatures from across the galaxy. But now the food is fighting back — in spectacularly gory fashion! Tuck in your napkin for this messy, pulpy, over-the-top tale of bloody revenge. Dinner is served!
Written by Matt Carr with illustrations from Lane Lloyd (Sable, God-Puncher), Mise En Place is the newest one-shot from CEX Publishing.
We fell in love with Mise En Place from the very first page, well let’s be honest…from the cover. The artwork on the cover, by Nicole Goux, gives you such a great idea of what is inside, but when you open the pages of the comic you get amazing pulp-style artwork from Lloyd.
This slightly oversized one-shot is a great CEX debut for Carr and Lloyd only help amplify the story with his artwork. Carr’s experience in the food industry help bring knowledge to the table and gives us a great foundation. While the book feels a little out of this world, it is more grounded in a possible future than we all would like to believe.
Mise En Place hits shelves at your local comic shop on April 26, 2023 with a main cover from Goux and variant cover from Lloyd.
