The Golden Raspberry Awards, also known as the Razzies or Razzie Awards, announced the 43rd Razzie nominations on Monday and Sony’s Spider-Man Universe’s Morbius was lucky enough to receive five nominations.
The Razzies is a parody award show honoring the worst of cinematic under-achievements. Co-founded by UCLA film graduates and film industry veterans John J. B. Wilson and Mo Murphy, the Razzie Awards’ satirical annual ceremony has preceded its opposite, the Academy Awards, for four decades.
Although Moribus picked up five nominations, it was not that the top of the list. The lead goes to Blonde with eight nominations, followed by Good Mourning with seven and Disney’s Pinocchio with six.
Morbius was nominated for Worst Picture, Worst Actor (Jared Leto), Worst Supporting Actress (Adria Arjona), Worst Director (Daniel Espinosa), and Worst Screenplay (Matt Sazama / Burk Sharpless).
