A call has gone out that The Academy of Black Magic is about to reopen its doors for the first time in 200 years. The headmaster, school staff, and denizens of the underground city of Scholomance are making their final preparations for the arrival of these outsider children.
From the mind of artist/writer Joseph Schmalke (The Infernal Pact, Cherry Blackbird, Phantom Starkiller, We Don’t Kill Spiders) Seven Years in Darkness breaks with some horror taboos where children could die in a high fantasy winner-takes-all situation. The ritual of the new class begins in March.
Seven Years In Darkness will be published quarterly in a four-issue miniseries. The first issue will go on sale March 2023 featuring Cover A and B by Schmalke and Cover C (1:10 variant) from Bill Sienkiewicz.

But only seven will graduate and walk out alive! Their seven-year journey starts here, in this dark and sweeping fantasy epic from acclaimed comics creator Joseph Schmalke!
