CEX Publishing is proud to announce that demand for Joseph Schmalke’s Seven Years in Darkness: Year One #1 has exceeded expectations and is sold out at the distributor level. CEX will rush the first issue back to print in order to keep up with rising demand for the indie horror title. The new printing will feature an alternate logo color and is limited to a single cover design.
The Academy of Black Magic is about to welcome its first new class of students in 200 years, but this is no Hogwarts. 72 children enrolled, but only SEVEN will graduate alive… Seven Years in Darkness: Year One #1 is the start of an epic fantasy and horror adventure that thrills and terrifies at every turn. Seven Years in Darkness utilizes Schmalke’s stunning visuals to capture the anxiety that comes with attending high school. Joseph Schmalke has masterfully crafted something that is both chillingly familiar and artfully terrifying.
“Given the interest in the series, we overprinted in an attempt to meet demand, but it wasn’t enough,” said Andy Schmidt, publisher at CEX. “Joe has managed to build such a devoted fanbase for Seven Years prior to its launch, and that fanbase is continuing to grow. As a result, we made the decision to fast-track a second printing in order to make sure everyone who wants a copy of issue one will have an opportunity to get one.”
“I can’t wait for a larger audience to get their hands on this book,” said Joseph Schmalke, writer and artist of Seven Years in Darkness. “This is the beginning of a new, dark world I’m creating and couldn’t be happier with the fan and retailer response to the series.”
Seven Years in Darkness: Year One #1 second printing is now available for retailers to order through Lunar Distribution. Seven Years in Darkness: Year One #1 is scheduled to be in stores April 19, with the second printing arriving the following week.
Retailers, don’t forget to order this new printing by Sunday, April 16!
