Andrew Garfield Reportedly Inks Marvel Deal
After reprising his role as The Amazing Spider-Man in Spider-man: No Way Home (2021), Andrew Garfield has reportedly signed a multi-film deal with Marvel.
Kevin Feige recently stated we should know more about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in coming months. This has rumored to be focused around the Marvel comic book crossover event “Secret Wars.” This means Garfield could come back to the MCU like in No Way Home as the multiverses collide in future films.
Emma Roberts Joins Cast of Sony’s Madame Web
The Scream Queens actress Emma Roberts has joined the world of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) in the upcoming Madame Web feature film. No word on what role she will play in the film, but internet speculation has her cast as the SSU’s Spider-Gwen.
Madame Web is set to release July 7, 2023 with Dakota Johnson set to play the lead role. Joining them is Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced and Tahar Rahim for director S.J. Clarkson. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless wrote the script.
Marvel Submits Three Loki Episodes for Emmys
Loki‘s episodes one, three, and five were submitted to the Emmys. They had originally planned to submit to the limited series category, but plans changed when they announced a second season.
Episode 1: Glorious Purpose will go for the Best Writing (Drama) and Best Costumes (Fantasy/Sci-Fi) categories. Episode 3: Lamentis is entered for Best Directing (Drama), Best Hairstyling (Period/Character), and Best Makeup (Period/Character). While Episode 5: Journey Into Mystery will go for Best Cinematography (Single-Camera Series, One Hour).
The awards ceremony is planned to be held live on September 12, 2022.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife Officially Gets Sequel
The next chapter in the Ghostbusters franchise, a follow-up to director Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, will hit theaters on December 20, 2023.
During Ghostbusters Day, Reitman and co-writer Gil Kenan confirmed the sequel will return to the original films’ New York City and firehouse location.
Three New Marvel Studios Legends Coming to Disney+
The three new Legends episodes will focus around Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). These episodes are geared to get you read for the July 8 release of Thor: Love and Thunder.
