Seth Rogan‘s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem CG-animated feature film is set to swing into theaters on August 4, 2023 and Paramount dropped a teaser trailer on Monday.
The Turtle brothers set out on an epic quest to win the admiration of New Yorkers, and in their daring mission they make a powerful ally: April O’Neil. Little do they know that nothing could have prepared them for when their bravery leads them head-first into battle against a sinister crime syndicate with its own mutant army!
The trailer has a unique animated styling we first started to get a taste of with Sony’s Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse in 2018. This style will make TMNT: Mutant Mayhem standout amongst other Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films of recent years. Of course, nothing will stand up to the original 1990 film, but Rogen’s 2023 feature has the chance to be up towards the top.
As announced over the weekend, the turtles are voiced by Micah Abbey (Donatello), Shamon Brown Jr. (Michelangelo), Nicolas Cantu (Leonardo) and Brady Noon (Raphael) while Jackie Chan will voice Splinter. Additionally, Rogen himself will star as Bebop and John Cena will play Bebop’s pal Rocksteady.
Other voices added to the star-studded roster of talent include Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Ice Cube as Superfly, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem drops on August 4 with Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells vs. the Machines) directing a screenplay by Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors) based on by characters by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver serve as producers.
