Review Overview

Oliver is a seemingly typical 12 year old boy with a mysterious family history and unexplainable powers. In Uncanny Valley, written by Tony Fleecs (Stray Dogs, Local Man) and illustrated by Dave Watcher, we follow Oliver as he navigates his place in the world.

Oliver’s unique abilities set him apart from other boys his age, landing him in some trouble along the way. The mystery behind his family history slowly unravels as he is followed by a murder of crows, adding an element of suspense to the story.

The artwork in Uncanny Valley by Dave Watcher is truly exceptional, with a mixture of styles that perfectly encapsulate the plot of the comic. Tony Fleecs’ storytelling is both fun and heartfelt, making this series one to remember for years to come. Fleecs has this eerie ability to make us laugh and cry at the same time.

The combination of unique characters, captivating plot twists, and stunning artwork make Uncanny Valley a standout comic book that is sure to become a fan-favorite – what seems to be the norm nowadays for books helmed by Fleecs. Uncanny Valley is already a contender for comic of the year in our books.

With its intriguing plot, exceptional artwork, and characters we cannot wait to learn more about, this comic stands out as one of the best new releases in recent memory. Bring on the rest of the series!

Uncanny Valley #1 hits local comic shops on April 10, 2024 from BOOM! Studios.
