HOOD RIVER, Ore. – Wesley Snipes surprised everyone with his on stage appearance alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman during Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, and cast shared their excitement that Snipes had returned as the fan-favorite character Blade, which helped contribute to the biggest Rated-R theatrical opening of all time! On the heels of this stunning box office performance and two-time Guinness World Record-breaking appearance, the action star looks to continue his success with his original graphic novel, Wesley Snipes’ The Exiled.
The producer and star of the Blade franchise lends his likeness and creative prowess to this sci-fi noir graphic novel that he describes as “Seven meets Blade Runner” and marks his return to the comic book genre. The monthly comic book format release of the series sold over 200,000 units and was a hit at comic book retailers internationally. Published by Massive Publishing, this new collected edition is the first time the series will be available to the mass market book trade as well as comic book shops and can be pre-ordered now on Massive Publishing Website!
“Comics let you explore big worlds. Since Blade, I have been attracted to origin stories and developing characters,” said Snipes. “Now, I get to build “Roach” as a character from the ground up and I dig that.”
The project is a collaboration between Snipes’s production company Maandi House Studios, series artist Eskivo (TMNT, The Boys cover artist), and writers Adam Lawson (Gifted Rebels) and Keith Arem (PCB Entertainment) who had previously collaborated with Snipes in the past on the Demolition Man video game.
“I’m thrilled to work with Wesley again. He is a fantastic creative partner, and Adam and I love collaborating with him,” said Arem.
Pre-orders for Wesley Snipes’ The Exiled can now be placed at Massivepublishing.com, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target or at your local comic book shop and bookstore. Don’t miss out on this propulsive thrill ride when Wesley Snipes’ The Exiled hits stores this October from Massive Publishing.
