Review Overview

Attention Star Wars fans, the beloved character Thrawn has returned to the pages of comic books with Thrawn Alliances! Written by Timothy Zahn (Heir to the Empire) and Jody Houser (Age of Republic), with artwork from Andrea Di Vito and Pat Olliffe, this series is a visual treat for any Star Wars fans.

Thrawn Alliances follows the daring exploits of Grand Admiral Thrawn and Darth Vader as they take on a new threat on Batuu. Thrawn: Alliances captures the essence of the Thrawn character, as well as the overall tone of the Star Wars franchise, the comic book really delivers. Jody Houser and Timothy Zahn’s skillful adaptation of Zahn’s original novel is nuanced and engaging, blending the different threads of the plot together seamlessly to create a story that is both action-packed and emotionally resonant.

The artwork in the comic book is a real treat as well. Andrea Di Vito and Pat Olliffe do a fantastic job bringing the galaxy far, far away to life. They truly capture the scale and scope of the Star Wars universe, and their skillful illustration of Thrawn himself is a testament to their talent. The artwork is detailed, dynamic, and beautifully rendered, making Thrawn Alliances not only a great read but a great viewing experience as well. It is nice to see something you read previously come to life in comic book form.

The comic book adaptation of Thrawn Alliances is top-notch and the artwork is breathtaking. Reading the comic book is like watching a Star Wars movie, with all the epic action, memorable characters, and brilliant storytelling that fans have come to love. This comic book not only expands on the Thrawn character but also serves as a worthy addition to the Star Wars canon.

Thrawn Alliances hit shelves at local comic shops on January 24, 2024 from Marvel Comics.
