This week on the Capes and Tights Podcast, Justin Soderberg welcomes David Hazan and Alex Moore to the show to discuss their Scout Comics series Death Drop: Drag Assassin.
Hazan is a comic book writer and editor based in Melbourne, Australia. He is the writer and co-creator of the hit series, Nottingham, from Mad Cave Studios and a winner of the Mad Cave Studios 2019 Talent Search. Volume 1 of Nottingham hit record sales and Volume 2 is now on the shelves.
David has worked with a number of indie publishers on both work-for-hire and creator-owned stories, including Mad Cave Studios, Aftershock Comics, Scout Comics and more.
Moore is a freelance illustrator, story boarder and comic book artist from London, England. Their work often featured loud characters, bold colours and they particularly enjoy exploring visual storytelling.
Since graduating from Middlesex’s Illustration BA, Alex’s clients have included Wired Magazine, BBC Radio 6 and Dark Horse Comics. They have storyboarded projects for Nike, EA Sports and Adobe and have had sequential work published by TO Comix Press, Image Comics, Mad Cave Studios and Dynamite Comics. Alex was part of Secret 7’s 2015 exhibition at Somerset House and long-listed for the 2019 Folio Society Prize. Their work-in-progess graphic novel The Fine Art of Destruction was also long-listed for the 2020 Myriad First Graphic Novel competition.
