This week on Capes and Tights, Justin Soderberg welcomes Maine’s own comic book creator Ben Bishop to the podcast to talk The Last Ronin!
Bishop is known for creating the world’s first Split Decision Comic, Aggregate. He is more widely known recently as one of the artists on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin series at IDW Publishing. Ben’s cover art was feature as the San Diego Comic Con 2022 variant of issue 3.
On The Last Ronin, Ben joined TMNT co-creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, as well as Tom Waltz, Esau Escorza, and Issac Escorza. Ronin recently wrapped up its five-issue run on April 27, 2022.
TLR’s solicitation reads: In a future NYC far different than the one we know today, a lone surviving Turtle goes on a seemingly hopeless mission to obtain justice for his fallen family and friends.
Bishop has also partnered with Eastman on the TMNT co-creator’s book Drawing Blood, as well as drawn many variant covers for the likes of Crossover, We Don’t Kill Spiders, Count Draco Knuckleduster, Legos Ninjago, The Electric Black Presents, Pretty Violent, and more.
Ben also runs his own comic book publisher Split Decision Comics and his own fan club entitled Bishart Kids Club.
