In addition to the big two of Marvel and DC, there are hundreds more comic book publishers printing comics these days. However, a few stand above the rest.
We took the time to look at books from 2022 and which publisher was putting out the best lineup of comics. Here is our five favorite with an honorable mention.
1. BOOM!
BOOM! Studios was founded by Ross Richie in 2005 with the singular focus of creating world-class comic book and graphic novel storytelling for all audiences. Through four distinct imprints—BOOM! Studios, BOOM! Box, KaBOOM!, and Archaia—the company has produced bestselling, award-winning original work while also breaking new ground with established licenses. BOOM! will also bring their original series to life through a first-look relationship with Netflix.
BOOM! absolutely blew us out of the water this year with Something Is Killing The Children, House of Slaughter, Grim, The Approach, Alice Ever After, Briar, BRZRKR, Damn Them All, A Vicious Circle, Know Your Station, Once Upon a Time at the End of the World, and Stuff of Nightmares. Not to mention Once & Future.
Something Is Killing The Children, House of Slaughter, Grim, The Approach, Briar, Damn Them All, A Vicious Circle, Know Your Station, and Once Upon a Time at the End of the World are continuing into 2023. Additionally, we are excited for Mosely #1 coming in early 2023.
