No Man’s Land #1

Writer: Szymon Kudrański
Artist: Szymon Kudrański
Publisher: Image Comics
Diomede Islands. For three months each year, you can walk from the USA to Russia across an ice bridge — a frozen path known as the Ice Curtain.
In 1963, when the body of a young woman is discovered on this icy no-man’s land, the already fragile relationship between the superpowers threatens to collapse. With nuclear tensions rising, an FBI agent and a KGB operative must solve the murder — before the ice melts… and war ignites.
Voyeur #1

Writer: Leah Williams
Artist: David Baldeon
Publisher: Ignition Press
As head of security at the upscale Thai resort Koh Kingfisher, Rook has access to absolutely everything. From his office, he can punch into any closed-circuit camera on the island and see what all the guests are up to — and trust us, he’s seen it all. Or so he thought.
When Madeline arrives, she instantly captures Rook’s attention — and she just as quickly catches on to his game. Madeline not only picks up on the fact that he’s spying on her, but when she confronts him about his little hobby, she realizes he’s not exactly who he says he is. She knows Rook is at the resort to rob it of all its valuable art, and Madeline wants in.
Re-teaming writer Leah Williams and artist David Baldeón, the pair behind DC’s hit Power Girl series, for their first creator owned comic book, Voyeur is great for fans of White Lotus, Hitchcock’s To Catch a Thief, and sexy 1990s thrillers.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Casey Jones #1

Writer: Alex Paknadel
Artist: Amancay Nahuelpan
Publisher: IDW Publishing
Spinning directly from the pages of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Casey Jones’ first solo miniseries in over thirty years!
Casey Jones was shot by D.A. Hale, he’s awake, and he has a second chance at life. Instead of taking things slow and smelling the flowers, he’s jumping headfirst into the action. Casey is hitting the streets and doing everything he can to protect the people of New York City, but those closest to him think he’s pushing too hard. April O’Neil and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, especially Casey’s closest friend Raphael, are concerned. Things are only going to get worse as a new strain of mutagen starts changing the shape of New York City, and a brand-new villain threatens everything Casey believes in.
Exquisite Corpses Vol. 1 TP

Writer: James Tynion IV, Michael Walsh, Pornsak Pichetshote
Artist: Michael Walsh, Marianna Ignazzi, Valentine De Landro
Publisher: Image Comics / Tiny Onion
Every five years on Halloween, the wealthiest families in America play a game. Twelve of the deadliest people in the world are dropped into a small town with just one goal: last killer standing wins. For the citizens of Oak Valley, Maine – this year’s unlucky arena – the goal is much simpler. They must survive the night.
Experience a comics event like no other from the minds of James Tynion IV (Something is Killing the Children, The Department of Truth) & Michael Walsh (The Silver Coin, Universal Monsters: Frankenstein), as they lead a group of the most exciting voices in the industry.
In this blood-soaked first volume, James & Michael are joined by Pornsak Pichetshote (The Good Asian), Marianna Ignazzi (Catwoman), and Valentine De Landro (Bitch Planet) to collaborate and compete to determine who wins… and who dies.
Exquisite Corpses may have a familiar feeling, but Tynion and Walsh elevate the comic with their own spin, along with stunning visuals and interesting character work. The expanded, 60-page, first issue not only lays down the foundation for the series–which is likely to be a gripping and thrilling ride–but also gives each character introduction some breathing room. If the rest of the series is even close to this first issue, we’re in for something truly special. This is absolutely a must-read horror comic. – CLICK HERE to read the entire first issue review
