Marvel Studios announced the addition of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty to the Marvel Cinematic Universe phase six schedule at the San Diego Comic-Con in July. Now the film has a writer for the script.
According to Deadline, Marvel Studios has hired Jeff Loveness to pen the script for the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty film to release in 2025 as the first of two Avengers movies to take place in the sixth phase.
Loveness recently wrote the screen play for the first MCU film to hit theaters in 2023, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director, Destin Daniel Cretton, is on-board to direct The Kang Dynasty.
The hiring of Loveness make sense with Jonathan Majors as Kang The Conqueror appearing as the villain in the third Ant-Man film releasing in February 2024. Kang will continue his conquest in his own Avengers film in 2025 and bringing along Loveness to the party.
Loveness is known for his Primetime Emmy Award winning writing of Rick and Morty (The Vat of Acid Episode). He is also credited as writer for 238 episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, as well as acting in an episode of The Office. Loveness will look to bring something huge to the world of the Avengers.
