Spawn meets Batman once again in this Batman Spawn #1 one-shot from legendary Spawn creator Todd McFarlane (Amazing Spider-Man) and world class artist Greg Capullo (Batman, X-Force) at DC Comics.
Two dark heroes, cursed by tragedy, find their paths again crossing…but not by choice! What sinister foe is at work, pitting the Dark Knight against the Hellspawn? From the shadows of Gotham City to New York City, this epic event is the blockbuster you’ve been waiting almost two decades for!
You toss the name Spawn on anything and you have our attention and that is exactly what happen with the latest Batman Spawn #1 one-shot. We are not so much a Batman fan, but with Capullo’s pencils at the helm you can’t go wrong.
Now, that being said…the best part of a Spawn comic book is McFarlane’s outstanding illustrations and not his writing ability. Those who know us well, we have been a critic of McFarlane’s script writing. His ability to write a plot and story is outstanding, but executing a script falls off.
Batman Spawn is a wonderful story, but again not as easy to read as other Batman comics. The epic publisher crossover was worth the wait and the joining of forces of such a great creative team is just what the world of comics needs.
The 6o-plus page comic comes to you at $6.99 and was sold out at a number of local comic shops including our local shop Galactic Comics and Collectibles in Bangor, Maine.
Will the success of this one-shot bring us a second comic but this time released by Image Comics?
The Batman Spawn #1 one-shot is now available at your local comic shop after dropping December 14.
