New comic book day is quickly approaching and with a number of titles being released it can be hard to pick out which comics you should grab. This week in our featured comic book releases we include Blow Away #1, Destiny Gate TP and more.
While we are not the official voice of this decision, we want to help guide you in the right direction for comics releasing April 17, 2024.

From New York Times bestselling creators Scott Snyder and Jamal Igle comes this rollicking sci-fi adventure story about a boy, his dog, and a machine that controls time and space! What could go wrong?

Such questions have never crossed the mind of Dudley Datson, a fifteen year-old with a penchant for invention. But when dastardly foes turn his world upside down, Dudley is going to have to start facing things beyond his wildest imagination in this modern day fable.
Destiny Gate TP
Writer: Ryan Cady
Artist: Christian DiBari
Publisher: Top Cow / Image Comics
During the Great Depression, Mitchell Slate did everything he could for his family. One day, his ride home takes a dark turn when Mitchell’s train veers off the rails and into a macabre journey through his own fragile soul. There, he’ll have to face that life is, for the most part, a product of the decisions you make, and for some, a “wrong” decision or two (or more) leads to a crossroads on the other side of the Destiny Gate. Can Mitchell fight for a chance to survive and start anew, or will he succumb to his inner demons and end it all for himself, or worse-those he loves?
Writer Ryan Cady (Haunt You To The End, Batman) and artist Christian DiBari (Revolvers, Magdalena: Reformation) take you on a mind-bending journey through the fabric of reality that will test Mitchell Slate’s beliefs, his devotion to his family-and his sanity.
From the World of Minor Threats: The Alternates TP
Writer: Patton Oswalt, Tim Seeley, Jordan Blum
Artist: Tess Fowler, Christopher Mitten
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
Spinning out of the world of the hit Minor Threats superhero series created by Patton Oswalt, Jordan Blum, and Scott Hepburn comes a new tale of costumed underdogs–featuring a support group for superheroes, struggling to reclaim their mediocre lives after tasting their true potential.
Mary the Multi-Monster! The Tripper! Crab Louie! Kid Curious! Persona! These offbeat b-list superheroes, formerly known as The Alternates, seemingly sacrificed themselves to stop an invasion from another dimension. Instead they were transported to a mirror reality where they lived complex lives in a more four-dimensional existence–expanding both their powers and consciousness.
Five years later they’ve returned to Twilight City, struggling to reacclimate to their old lives in a traditional two-dimensional superhero world–in withdrawal from the vivid ones they left behind. When elements from this alternate reality turn up as a dangerous new street drug, some of the heroes band together to destroy it, while others succumb to its temptation.
Illustrated by Tess Fowler (Rat Queens) and Christopher Mitten (Hellboy, 30 Days of Night) and featuring pinups by Fabio Moon, Tony Fleecs, Ryan Browne, Martin Simmonds, and more!
Terrorwar TP

Eisner-winning writer Saladin Ahmed (Miles Morales) and superstar horror artist Dave Acosta (Elvira) turn it up to 11 for this sci-fi horror about working people fighting fears made flesh!
Blue City was the last liveable place on Earth. Now it’s crawling with Terrors — monsters that physically transform into whatever their victims are most afraid of. And the only people that can stop the Terrors are an overworked, underpaid crew from the wrong part of town.
