CEX Publishing’s new political thriller Divide hits comic book stores on December 28, 2022 and it’s a doozy.
Divide is a new comic book series from the creator and showrunner of the groundbreaking speculative fiction series, Futurestates, Karim Ahmad and artist David N. Gordillo. Colors added by Brittany Peer and Lesley Atlansky with lettering from Simon Bowland.
In a future where Muslims and other immigrants are imprisoned and subjected to forced labor, one man plans a daring escape, but can he and his comrades succeed? Or is there something more sinister afoot?
When Salim is separated from his family and imprisoned with countless other Muslims and immigrants, he and his allies develop a plan to return home. But can they escape before this prison’s supernatural secret consumes them all?
Inspired by current events, this double-sized first issue of Divide brings you a monstrous and heart-rending story about the toll of divisive politicking and family separation!
Now political thriller style comic books are held to a standard set by The Recount, in our opinion, and Divide can hold its own. The new three-issue series is full of twists, turns and takes on inspiration from our current lives that is all-to-real.
Divide mixes prison breaks, space and politics in one action packed debut issue that leaves you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next issue.
Gordillo’s visuals are super attractive and compliment Ahmad’s storytelling ability. Easy to read and a great paced comic.
Get the debut issue on December 28 at your local comic shop.
