LOS ANGELES, CA – BOOM! Studios today revealed a first look at Garfield #1, the first issue in a new four-issue series about everyone’s favorite cat! Ryan Estrada (I Climbed Kilimanjaro) and Sarah Graley (Kim Reaper, Minecraft) pen two short stories in the first issue, joined by artist Axur Eneas (Princeless) and letterer Stef Purenins (Our Super Adventure), to bring Garfield to life of this can’t miss tie-in to the The Garfield Movie from Alcon Entertainment, available in August 2024.
Alcon Entertainment’s animated presentation of The Garfield Movie debuted worldwide via Sony Pictures in May 2024. The movie stars Chris Pratt as Garfield and Samuel L. Jackson as a brand-new character, Vic, Garfield’s father.
This first furry foray into Garfield’s world adds another layer to the proverbial lasagna featuring not just one feline tale, but two tantalizing stories! “Midnight Munchies” is written by Ryan Estrada, illustrated by Axur Eneas, and lettered by Stef Purenins; “Jon Minus Garfield” is written and illustrated by Sarah Graley and lettered by Stef Purenins.
Garfield #1 features main cover art by JJ Harrison & Venture (Adventure Time) and variants by Jay Stephens (The Invisibles), and Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers).
Garfield #1 will be available in comic shops August 7, 2024. It is available for pre-order at your local comic shop. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including Kindle, iBooks, and Google Play. Issue #2 will be available on September 11, 2024; Issue #3 on October 9, 2024; and Issue #4 on November 13, 2024.
