The latest release from Band of Bards, Coins of Judas #1, explores the secrets behind the pieces of silver dropped by Judas and the demons that spawned from this time.
Written by Travis Gibb (Holiday Spirits) with artwork from Tyler Carpenter, colors by Roland Kalniņš and lettering from Jérôme Gagnon, the first issue of the two-issue Band of Bards miniseries drops this January 18.
Have you ever wondered what happened to the 30 pieces of silver that Judas dropped when he betrayed Christ? The Westergaard family knows and they have been fighting a hidden war against demons that have been spawned from it for years. However, since the death of Cullen Westergaard, his daughter and son are split apart as a new evil rises. Can they come together to save humanity one more time?
Band of Bards, founded in 2021, is an independent publisher of comics and graphic novels telling Untold Stories that Break the Mold. With not a ton of books on the market currently, sometimes these books can be missed. However, we were lucky enough to be in touch with one of their comic creators, Gibb, and are lucky enough to get a chance to experience Coins of Judas.
The new book from Gibb and Carpenter tells a rather unique story based around a widely-known story from the Bible, but with a twist to give us a little more to the original story. Demons, mystery, and a hidden war.
While the book moves along a little too fast, the excellent premise and unique take allows us to enjoy the comic and have us hankering for the second issue of this two-issue miniseries.
Be sure to grab your copy of Coins of Judas #1 at your local comic shop on January 18.
