When Substack signed on a number of comic book creators to their platform it was hard to choose which to support. However, I knew from the start that 3 Worlds 3 Moons was worth the subscription.
3 Worlds 3 Moons is a concept universe by Mike del Mundo (Thor), Jonathan Hickman (X-Men), and Mike Huddleston (The Strain). What does a “Concept Universe” mean? It means their building it collaboratively, in real time, from scratch.
Through comics, conversation, and process posts, subscribers get the best seat in the house as the crew creates the place we’ll be telling stories in for years to come. And not just Mike, Mike, and Jonathan. They have invited a bunch of their friends to help them. Amazing creators like Al Ewing (Immortal Hulk), Christian Ward (Blood Stained Teeth), Jason Howard (Trees), Ram V (Swamp Thing), Stephen Green (Impact Winter), Tini Howard (Knights of X) and more are stopping by, with many more names to come.
3 Worlds 3 Moons have released over 15 digital comics for subscribers to read and dive into over the past 15 months, plus many other digital pieces surrounding their foundation, process, and systems to building their universe. The 3 Worlds 3 Moons creative team knew the work that needed to be done and excelled at not only following through, but showing their work.
Personally, I subscribe to four Substack creators and the team at 3 Worlds 3 Moons have by far outdone the rest of the pack, closely followed by the Tiny Onion. The value you get from both the monthly or annual subscriptions and the founder level far exceeds the cost of the subscription.
As a Founding Member, last week I received my 3 Worlds 3 Moons [SYSTEMS] Deluxe Hardcover with signed book plate, [FOUNDATIONS] Print Comic (collecting the stories FABLE and RUINS), and two signed and limited edition prints by Huddleston and del Mundo, as well as my metal membership card. The quality of both the physical items and the story and artwork is unmatched.
The creative team behind 3 Worlds 3 Moons also takes time to answer questions, live draw and much more via their Substack. The group also goes out of their way to host Founder Level meetups, brunches and VIP signings at conventions across the country. Although I have not been able to attend as of yet, I am looking forward to my opportunity in the future.
Substack might have been somewhat of an unknown to most comic book readers 15 months ago, it is more commonly known now. If you want to see which creators are doing their fans right, check out 3 Worlds 3 Moons today. You won’t be disappointed. I have never received more from a membership in new original content than the 3 Worlds 3 Moons Substack.
