Shazam! Fury of the Gods continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word “SHAZAM!,” is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam. Billy Batson and his foster siblings are forced to get back into action and fight the Daughters of Atlas. They must stop them from using a weapon that could destroy the world.
Shazam! grossed $366.1 million in 2019 on a $100 budget, including $53.5 million opening weekend. Fury of the Gods was made for $120 and is expected to fall a bit short of the title film with a $35-40 million opening.
With the DC Universe in flux, the future of Levi as Shazam may rely on the success of the sequel film, so if you are a big fan of the portrayal of the character head to the theaters on March 17 and show your support.
