Space Job from Dark Horse Comics is funny, different and out of this world in it’s debut of a four-part miniseries.
Written by David A. Goodman (Star Trek, The Orville) and illustrated by Alvaro Sarraseca (Turok), this comic follows the story of Danny Sheridan as he embarks on his dream job as First Officer aboard the SS George H.W. Bush. But when he arrives, something is off — and Danny won’t stop until he gets to the bottom of it!
With hints of The Orville television show (no surprise there with Goodman’s involvement in the series), this comic immediately draws you in with its twists and turns. You think you’re meeting our main character, only to find out that isn’t quite the case! The artwork is simple yet effective — nothing too spectacular but it definitely does the job and sometimes simple is best.
The colors provided by Jordi Escuin Llorach are fitting and exactly what it each page needs without being overwhelming or distracting from our main character’s journey. Mauro Mantella provides crisp lettering which helps move along our story without taking away from the action on each page.
With five long years of soul-crushing servitude as a chef’s assistant behind him, Danny Sheridan finally has his chance at an adventure like no other — and our readers get to join him in this incredible journey or so you think! This comic is definitely different from the comics we have recently been reading, a nice comedic change of pace.
Space Job #1 is a fun read and worth picking up at your local comic shop on February 8, 2023. The second issue drops March 8.
