According to Variety, a Spider-Man Noir live-action series is in the works at Amazon Studios.
Set in roaring 1930s New York City, a mysterious vigilante emerges as the city’s newest protector. Breaking away from existing comics’ universes and conventions, this grizzled superhero will be sure to provide daring adventures that challenge our ideas of heroism!
Fans of the Marvel universe are delighted to hear that Amazon Prime Video and MGM+ are teaming up for an exciting new project involving characters from Sony’s extensive Spider-Man franchise (over 900 to be exact). Angela Kang showrunner of Silk: Spider Society, is leading this marvelous venture with even more enthralling shows on the horizon – though currently no further details have been revealed about which iconic heroes or villains may make an appearance.
Oren Uziel, who will serve as writer and executive producer on the show, is teaming up with the minds behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Sony Pictures Television to bring an exciting new project based on Marvel’s beloved wall crawler–Spider Man Noir. Developed by Oren, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal of Pascal Pictures this mysterious venture promises a thrilling spinoff story.
Uziel is no stranger to Hollywood, having contributed his writing talents to numerous box office smashes like the Mortal Kombat reboot and The Cloverfield Paradox. Most recently, he wrote for Sandra Bullock–Channing Tatum rom-com hit The Lost City. Adding further blockbusters on his resume with upcoming projects like the fourth installment of John Wick’s adventures and an adaptation of video game favorite Borderlands, Uziel continues making a name in Tinseltown one script at a time.
