The Acolyte, the next installment in a galaxy far, far away is set to premiere the first two episodes on Disney+ this June 4, 2024 in a six-episode first season.
The Star Wars series was created for Disney+ by Leslye Headland and is set at the end of the High Republic era before the events of the main Star Wars films, and follows a Jedi investigation into a series of crimes. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes but discovers the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.
Star Wars: The Acolyte stars Amandla Stenberg as Mae, Lee Jung-jae as Sol, Manny Jacinto as Qimir, Dafne Keen as Jecki Lon, Charlie Barnett as Yord Fandar, Jodie Turner-Smith as Mother Aniseya, Rebecca Henderson as Vernestra Rwoh, Joonas Suotamo as Kelnacca, Abigail Thorn as Ensign Eurus and Carrie-Anne Moss as Indara. Additionally, Charles Chapman, Margarita Levieva and Amy Tsang have been cast in undisclosed roles.
Headland, Alex Garcia Lopez, Kogonada, and Hanelle Culpepper each directed two episodes respectively. The writing team consists of Headland, Jason Micallef and Charmaine DeGrate, Jasmyne Flournoy and Eileen Shim, Claire Kiechel and Kor Adana, Adana and Cameron Squires, Micallef and Jocelyn Bioh, as well as DeGrate and Jen Richards & Jasmyne Flournoy.
The first two episodes of Star Wars: The Acolyte will be available to stream on June 4, 2024 with the next four episodes streaming every week following.
