As new comic day quickly approaches it can be sometimes difficult to decide which of the new comics hitting the shelves at your local comic shop to grab. Do not worry, we are here to help. This week we preview four titles that standout from the crowd including Starship Godzilla #1, Behemoth TP, and more!
While we are not the official voice of your decision, we want to help guide you in the right direction for comics releasing October 1, 2025.
Starship Godzilla #1

Writer: Chris Gooch
Artist: Oliver Ono
Publisher: IDW Publishing
You didn’t think kaiju were only on Earth, did you? In the fight for galactic supremacy, no weapon is more powerful than a kaiju… and no team is better equipped to capture and transport these titanic monsters than the crew of Starship Godzilla!
This ragtag group flies through space in Mechagodzilla and takes high-risk, high-reward missions across the galaxy. A kaiju heading toward your planet? Give them a call. A colossal space pest clogging up your trade route? They’ll get rid of it. A galactic civil war utilizing kaiju on both sides? They’ll… uh… do their best to stay out of it. But where there’s a galactic war, there’s a galactic conspiracy, and this may be one fight our crew doesn’t land on the same side of.
Each new Kai-Sei era comic feels unmistakably like a Godzilla story, yet each also carves their own path and has a unique identity. While the first two had strong premiere issues, Starship Godzilla might take the cake. Writer Chris Gooch and artist Oliver Ono have created something spectacular with Starship Godzilla, something truly out of this world. A premiere issue that had me riveted to each panel with sheer excitement. – CLICK HERE to read the entire review
Kill All Immortals II #1

The Asvalds were once a powerful billionaire Viking family with a source of secret immortality, until the family’s only daughter, Frey Asvald, led her brothers in a principled rebellion to overthrow their barbaric father and end their eternal powers. But when an ancient and supernatural adversary threatens to destroy their precarious empire and kill them one by one, they must band together as a family, survive another deadly war — and dare to test their new mortality.
The Department of Truth #0

Publisher: Image Comics
The Department of Truth celebrates its 5th Anniversary with an extra-length #0 Issue!
A new day has dawned at the Department of Truth. Lee Harvey Oswald and his ruthless new recruits are ready to do whatever it takes to make the agency great again. Don’t miss this critical turning point in the Eisner-nominated series!
And — for the first time ever — DoT welcomes celebrated guest writer Scott Snyder (Absolute Batman) and acclaimed artist Josh Hixson (The Deviant) to tell the secret history of Elvis in the first of a three-part back-up story!
Behemoth TP

Writer: Grant Sputore, Ryan Engle
Artist: Jay Martin
Publisher: Dark Horse
When a giant monster attacks a city and swallows a bus full of civilians, Sara, a chef with big dreams, finds herself trapped in the belly of the beast — literally.
For years, Sara has poured her heart and soul into her food truck, pinning her hopes on winning the upcoming Food Truck Battle to finally make a name for herself. But as the monstrous kaiju tears through the city, both Sara and her dreams are swallowed up by the towering creature.
Stuck inside the kaiju’s enormous stomach, she and her fellow survivors will have to fight for their lives.
Grant Sputore & Ryan Engle along with Jay Martin have created something truly special in Behemoth. Those who typically shy away from Kaiju stories–like myself–should not dismiss this story as it has so much more going for it. Behemoth is a compelling tale enriched by fantastic artwork brimming with emotion and disaster alike–it stands poised to become one of my favorite comics of 2025 if subsequent issues are even close to this debut issue. – CLICK HERE to read the entire review of issue one
